‘NOT JUST SAX’ are a group of five local musicians from the south led by Sarah Bolter on Saxes, flute, clarinet and vocals. The band was formed in 2001 and are bound together by a love of melodic, rhythmic jazz whilst enjoying pushing the boundaries of the idiom with a variety of well-known favourites and originals composed by pianist Ray Shea.

‘Not Just Sax’ have recorded 6 albums to date with the last being produced by Derek Nash. Following meeting each other, Derek and Sarah’s first performance together was at the Red lion in Swanage during Swanage Jazz Festival weekend in 2019. Sarah is very excited and honoured to playing again with Derek and especially in Swanage. ‘I have played in Swanage several times over the last 20 years and love the town and its people. This will be my 13th consecutive year at the Red Lion and it’s been so lovely to see people returning year after year’

Derek and ‘Not Just Sax’ share a love of high energy music as well as beautiful ballads and are looking forward to having lots of fun together on October 12th.
