Jody Espina Saxophone Masterclass

Jody Espina is an internationally acclaimed Saxophonist and Jazz educator. After graduating from Berklee College of Music in 1983, Espina performed and taught music in Barcelona Spain and toured with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra before settling in New York City in 1985. Espina’s extensive private studies include such masters of Jazz Saxophone and Improvisation as Joe Viola, Joe Allard, Dave Liebman, George Garzone and Joanne Brackeen.

What gets you up early in the morning? After this weekend I hope the answer will be the Saxophone! We’ll be playing together as a group, a lot. I would like these sessions to be about more playing than lecturing. All levels of players are invited, from beginners to advanced players. Making you a more natural and relaxed player will be one of the weekend’s main goals. And having more fun with the saxophone will be the result. I can’t wait to see you all there. We’re going to have a blast!Jody Espina

More About Jody….

Once in New York City, Espina enjoyed a very successful career for over 15 years as a professional musician, performing, recording and teaching music. He performed numerous concerts with a variety of major acts, regularly performed in Broadway pit orchestras, recorded various movie sound tracks and was also the head of the Jazz Department for The Hoff-Barthelson Music School.

In addition to his day-to-day duties as President of JodyJazz Inc., Espina maintains an active performance schedule appearing regularly in the Savannah area and across the southeast USA.
