Contemporary Jazz Workshop with Arno Haas30th - 31st May 2026

St Leonards Hotel, Ringwood, BH24 2NR

On 30th – 31st May 2026 AB Workshops and P. Mauriat Saxophones welcome Arno Haas for a Contemporary Jazz Workshop. Arno will be running a two day workshop, the main focus being playing contemporary style jazz; smooth, fusion.

Internationally sought after, saxophonist Arno Haas studied jazz saxophone with Andy Scherrer at the Swiss Jazz School in Bern and further refined his artistry in masterclasses with Joe Lovano and Bob Malach. His stylistic versatility, warm tone on soprano, alto, and tenor saxophone, and his spontaneous musical empathy make him an exceptional shaper of sound.

Arno Haas has performed worldwide with artists such as Al Jarreau, the Duke Ellington Orchestra, Paul Kuhn, Brian Bromberg, Chuck Findley, Tony Lakatos, Ack van Rooyen, Mick Taylor, Joo Kraus, Helene Fischer, and many others, and has contributed to numerous CD productions. Concert tours have taken him throughout Europe, the United States, Israel, and large parts of Asia. Since 2013, he has also been leading a highly popular saxophone workshop in Mallorca.

Following his critically acclaimed, Los Angeles–produced albums Magic Hands (2013) and Back To You (2015), he released his third solo album, GRAFFITI, in 2021.

Sponsored by P. Mauriat Saxophones.

Arno plays P. Mauriat Saxophones and Jody Jazz mouthpieces.

Playing level: As a guide, you’ll need an instrumental ability of Grade 3 standard or above.

Participant Information

As an approximate guideline; be able to play around Grade 3 standard. Please note, this does not mean you need Grade 3 qualification, it means your current playing level should be of this standard or better.

Regardless of your current level, we here at AB Workshops are committed to providing tuition and support at a pace that allows you to absorb salient points while good progress and motivation is maintained.

What do we mean by “grades” as a measuring tool? We use the ABRSM/Trinity “classical” syllabus, but in most respects this applies to the Jazz grades as well. If you haven’t taken any grades then please contact us to discuss suitability.
